Hi all,

I used to be able to go into my home directory, in Music/iTunes I think, and find all the files that were backed up from my iPad. Just recently however I no longer see them. Can anyone tell me where backed up files are now being stored?

I would first stop any activity to the drive.

Next I would use Disk Utility and Repair Permissions on the Drive.

If you have Disk Warrior have it rebuild the Disk.

If not buy Disk Warrior and then rebuild.

Disk Warrior is an essential Utility for Disk Maintenance and has saved me on too many potential disasters to enumerate.

In settings you can set it so it never goes to sleep. However, that eats up a lot of battery. Do you have it plugged in at night?

Thanks for the response! I prolly should email the developer to find out what the story is but to answer you, I do not plug in overnight and would you mind telling me where the heck in the settings that setting is. I know it is crazy but I don't see it.

An RGB Scart cable will give you the best picture possible from the console itself. How well the TV handles the signal and the actual picture quality is another matter entirely.

I am using a windows keyboard in bootcamp - so far my only issue has been the reverse controls for @ and "( and how to adjust screen brightness)........but this morning I tried spell check in outlook express which is F10 on microsoft wiondows 4000 keyboard.....it's throwing up every word for spell check even when correctly spelt !!! Any ideas? This will be a major issue of course if unresolved.

The Diamondbach is $200 think I will spend that money on something else LOL. I could see maybe $125 for a full chrome version but chrome is not even a option.

Also I guess they dont make a full chrome Atomic bumper either seems like I saw a pic of one at the site but its not an option for purchase only that trim piece oh well.

So...I thought that with the popularity of digital books I'd check out some and see if I should start reading them instead of print.

But it's a fail; they seem to be nothing but digitized books. For a considerable sum of money. I had thought that by now someone would be creating a real electronic book, something intended to be read with an iPad or Kindle or something. Printed material in books, magazines and newspapers is optimized for those forms; ebooks are just dreck. Yeah, I can search. Or bookmark. BFD.

Are there any examples of someone writing a book that isn't either a digitized version of a paperback, or a glorified web page? I'd like to see a version of the Odyssey, for example, where it could switch back and forth between languages, or had contextual maps, or would pronounce names for you, or whatever. Something that could exploit what an electronic device can do, in a way that adds to the content but doesn't distract you. Anything?

My google maps app has a problem. It will locate me with the blue dot until I zoom out then it shows a completely different city (and it shows the blue locate dot that I'm there?) I've tried a soft and hard reset. Could someone give me some advice please?

Do your location services work with other apps accurately?

Looks like the same as the pogo stylus. The iPad can already discern the difference between smaller capacitive stylus input and fingers, but that's all locked to private APIs. All Apple would need to do is open those up.

I have a 21 inch Cintiq and I still wish I could draw on the iPad easily, it would just be too perfect for sketching up ideas.

hi. like the title says, i spilled a little ketchup in the ear speaker of my iphone 4. of course i cleaned the ketchup out and when i got home i tried to clean it with rubbing alcohol at the end of a q-tip. but still at this point it's really really hard to hear anyone on the other end. so i'm pretty sure there's little tiny pieces of ketchup residue within the speaker. has anyone had a similar problem or have any suggestions as to what i should do? thank you in advance!

I've seen them from time to time elsewhere in very limited quantities, but they are usually a bad deal. Apple refurbs come with the full factory warranty same as a new Apple. I assume they go through very high quality testing, and are repackaged as if new.

Other refurbs are essentially used computers that some third party has tested in some way, with a very short warranty that has to be handled through them. Often original accessories and CDs are not included.

But if you really want that, you can look at Powermax.com, themacstore.com, and occasionally buy.com.

From what I understand about CDMA phones, the carrier has to allow the phone on their network. As the others have said, it's highly doubtful that Sprint would do that. It can't hurt to ask, but expect to be disappointed.

Maybe have a look at MPEG Streamclip (http://www.squared5.com/) to split audio from video, but transcoding is involved in this too.

The 'Save Track' option doesn't involve transcoding, but it may involve rewrapping.
