"If you have no idea how to make apps, you shouldn't be attempting something like this as your first project.
Anywho, to anyone who would possibly make this, there's an undocumented method in either SpringBoard or UIApplication (I can't remember which) that records and plays back UI events. (I'm currently kind of busy, and the last time I saw that method was in early but it still might be there
Ok,that's a start,where can I find it?
Not my first app btw just first app like this

i dont see whats the need for an app like that

NO native macro on ios yet. But if u want, use vnc and macro on pc so essnetially u automate stuff on idevice. Not ideal but ATM one of the better ways

I know how to get it, but give me a few minutes and I'll have it.
It's this one you're talking about right?

I bought a Samsung 160 GB 5400 rpm laptop ATA hard drive to replace the stock 4200 rpm 40 GB that came with the first generation 1.25 GHz G4 mini. I disassembled the machine and put in the new disk and the problems began. The mini will no longer boot from the Leopard install DVD. It just doesn't find it. I reset the PRAM, didn't help. Held the option button during startup, doesn't find any bootable drives. So I pop the stock hard drive in and everything starts working just fine. It boots from it or from the Leopard install DVD.
I pretty sure I installed the new disk in properly. Is there anything I can do or is that new Samsung just incompatible?
edit: Disregard the thread. Solved it. I guess the disk has to be plugged in all the way, not even a 0.5 mm gap.

A. No
B. Not really. Your app could register a custom URL handler that would allow it to be launched from a web page with parameters being passed but that would require the page to be changed to do that. So it's not possible in general, generic terms.
Thank you Robbie!
for my second question, my requirement goes something like this ::
Say a person opens apple site in his mobile safari - www.apple.com
Now he clicks Ipad link - the URL in address bar changes to www.apple.com/ipad

I think if you can score that for a little better deal, you will be good to go. I have seen several in the 180 dollar range on ebay, etc. Depends on how much ram, vid card, etc., I guess....
I still have one that I use all the time. It runs great and does pretty much everything I need. True, you are capped at 10.5.8, but it is not that big of a deal. Not for the little money you are going to pay for such a great machine. :D

A friend of mine just got her brand new iBook 900. The problem is, the cd seems to malfunction. It ejects just fine if there is no cd inside, but with a cd pressing the eject button makes it choke, trying over and over again to do the eject procedure but without managing to open it.
If you have an iBook, try this to get an illustration of the problem: Put your finger over the cd tray door holding it shut. Then press eject. The computer will try to eject again and again with a clicking sound.
She finally managed to dig in her fingernails and forcibly open it. That worked. Repeating the experiment apparently yielded the same results.
Anyone experienced this? Before I get her computer shipped away to be fixed, I wanted to get some opinions here to see if it maybe could be easily mended.

I doubt there would be a huge difference, but if you are looking for numbers, the high end 15" MBP has the 6750M in it and there are lots of benchmark numbers for it floating around the 'net. That should give you at least a baseline of what to expect from the 6750m and if that is "good enough" for you, then I would roll with that.
Just my .02 worth.
P.S. Yes I realize that they utilize different processors, and other factors can cause the benchmark numbers to vary, but it is a good baseline for what to expect in the iMac.

I was coming back from visiting my parents over the weekend and I noticed a strange line of aircraft lining up to land at O'Hare. I was thinking that the planes were way too close to each other to land safely. Upon closer inspection I noticed that they were helicopters, usually when you see more than one helicopter in Chicago either the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup or President Obama is in town. Here are some pictures I snapped with my iPhone, you can sort of see that they are helicopters, I think Obama is in one of the two choppers on the right. Anyway, Happy 49th Birthday Mr. Obama (belated)!
The last photo was taken sometime in May (I think) Obama was heading south down Halsted right by my apartment!

If you're worried, buy a refurbished one. Even if a new one comes out soon (which it probably won't for awhile), you'll still have a good deal. And you will get to enjoy it now instead of waiting for a tiny speed boost.

Transfer speed is also something to consider if you will be routinely moving large amounts of data. You said you have a Macbook, but is it the standard model or the Pro model. A standard Macbook only has USB 2.0, but the Pro models will offer FW.
Edit: For clarification, if you do have a standard Macbook, some of the older models did come with a FW400 port, but the current unibody plastic model does not offer one.

So can anyone actually get this "prank" to work? When I launch the app, I don't get any window, so it just looks to me like a poorly-executed prank.
I suspected that something was wrong, but I haven't been able to fix it.

You can find them, but its hard and they are expensive. Apart from that it is not a good idea to open an new iMac and void the warranty by messing around with the internals.
Good points, thought it might of been a long shot! Just wish I could have an awesome 2GB graphics in a base 999 iMac!

When my home studio opened in 2000 i was running a pentium 3 1 ghz system with 512mb ram and a 60-gig hd. In 2002 i updated to XP and had no problems from then on. I was using cubase sx on pc and was having very little problems maybe 1 crash every 2 months. The main problem was speed... wasn't able to run many tracks with the plugins I had. So this Oct. I purchased a brand new dual2.0ghz g5 with 512mb ram and a 160-gig hd. I purchased motu Digital Performer 4 and the g5 came with panther. Now in January I'm beginning to regret this decision. First of all i must say OSX is flawless. It's a pleasure to work with everyday. Now on the hardware side. The speed is very good but I'm an audio engineer and obviously the control room must be as quiet as possible. The system itself...pretty silent. Now the crunching squeaking and chirping that is coming out of my speakers and headphones is far form silent. My clients complain almost everytime about the noise that is coming from their headphones in between takes. Digital Performer is awful. I have never used a program that loves to randomly quit to often. My recommendation for any audio engineer or musician/engineer stay away from the first generation g5' and digital performer. The combination of the two has all but ruined my mac experience.

What time are you guys planning on lining up there? I was thinking about doing the whole 32 hours again - homage to the iPhone 4 - but wondering what the facilities are like around Apple Sydney. Is it a 24/7 store like 5th avenue?

Nice solid intro before the psychadelic styled piano/organ lead. Really dig that sound! The blend of both oriental sounds and a traditional 4/4 beat evolving into into something a little. A little startled at the initial vocal introduction due to the distortion, possibly clipping upon the recording really gets to me.
Overall it's got a solid laid back, chilled feel, something I really dig, the mix seems solid and the only problem I have with it is that vocal distortion which really stands out.

Hello. I have a question that hopefully someone can answer.
Are the powerbooks able to dual monitor span between an external monitor and the powerbook screen? Or do I need two external monitors?
Thanks in advance for your replies.
