just picked mine up. 16gb wifi, this sure takes the edge off of waiting for my ipad 2 to get here in late april. I feel like an addict with a quick fix.
I am about to open this bad boy up and it will have 4.2.1 anyone know if i should leave it that way, or if I should update to 4.3?

It was helpful to have a shortcut into their Mac development team. I tried to deal with the German support team - which I think is the same that also handles the Windows crowd - and I got the impression that Office for Mac issues are just a tiny blob on their screens.
I got them so far as to acknowledge that they can reproduce the bug in PowerPoint. However they then told me that they can not get through to the people in the US and that even if they could the developers would not listen to them anyway - go figure...

Im tryin to print some episodes to tape and runnin into some issues. I have been doing this with no problem for a couple years now but no more...My setup to give you an idea is Firewire out of my mac into my tapedeck and a/v out of my tapedeck into a monitor just to make sure everything is ok. When i play my video it usually has a straight stream to my monitor through the tapedeck but what its doing now is just playing the audio and showing the first frame of the video and nothing else till i stop the video, then it changes the first frame to the last frame i stopped the video on. When I try to print to tape it will record the audio and just the frame that the playhead was on when I hit record. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem before, its kinda strange. I have restarted FCP, refresed the A/V devices checked my settings and not sure whats goin on. There is a connection because it brings the picture and audio in, it just wont stream the video to my tape deck. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You can't be serious. The Holiday season is when online fraud is at it's peak, especially in places like NYC.

Even under Linux, it's easier than in Windows.
Networking is only hard if you have no clue what you are doing. Let's face it, most of it has been hidden away under layers and layers of auto-configuration that every OS under the sun has supported for decades now.
You barely even have to worry about cabling anymore, with MDI-X.
And personally, I find the Network and Sharing center confusing in Windows. It's like everything is buried way too deep. Windows 2000 was just perfect as far as the Windows implementation of a networking GUI configuration tool goes. It's been downhill ever since. Just give me flat text files any day of the week though.

I dunno what Kodak does with all the patent settlements they win... they won a fortune off Sun Microsystems a decade or so back, too. I wouldn't say they're dying, though, their focus has just moved to document imaging workflow systems and other such exciting things.

iOS evolution from 1 to 4 is somewhat disappointing. It has become somewhat stale, especially for the iPad. Hopefully iOS 5 is a big leap forward.

The channels that do not participate are just inching that much more toward obscurity.
Just recently we cancelled the cable subscription (still have KylinTV IPTV) for lack of use. Only one TV show was watched per week, and that can be purchased on iTunes in a superior format to what we got via cable, for a fraction of the cost of cable.
If my provider had an app like this, we would have stayed subscribed. Its arcane to sit down in front of a screen at a predetermined time to watch programming, it really is.

Once again, I was never talking about the audio out port that also has mic capabilities for iPhone headsets that there are very few of. I was talking about the line-in jack that is useless and does not support power for a typical headset.

It certainly isn't useless, it's designed so you can get high-quality stereo audio through it. You can't do that with a mic socket, the power in the socket for the mic can affect the sound quality, it causes a buzz. If you want high quality audio get a USB headset or a USB/FW microphone preamp. For the majority the iPhone headphones/mic or the built-in mic work just fine. Why do you need support for PC-style headsets?

It seems these ads are almost a carbon copy of US versions which are translated into Japanese.
Except for the first one, which is a play on words with "Mac" and "work," which when pronounced in katakana Japanese rhymes with "Mac."

I have a second entry I took today. I found this burned out stump filled with a pool of water reflecting the sky. I saw it and realized it had all 4 "elements" in it.

I am actually afraid of this for Apple!
This is just going to give bad press, and get people to start to compare Apple to the RIAA with regards to lawsuits.
I understand Apple wanting to protect it's name, however they promoted podcasting , and do within many of their products, so trademarking it is just going to crush the little guys that recently started to support and like Apple.
I think this is a bad move, and worries me!

Why are there so many Negative votes? An update to Aperture is a very good thing for photographers. If all these voters are people who were hoping for a MacBook Pro update, that doesn't quality you voting an Aperture update thread as negative. Big deal... the notebooks didn't get updated. Move along.
I really wish Apple offered a trial of Aperture on their Web site. I would love to try it out sometime.
