I like it, topics posts might have to get edited to conform to the views on the board, but it's good.

Yeah that's how it is. You pay 3.99 for shipping, and if you don't send back your old one to them within 60 days- they charge you full price.
I was just wondering if they will/can void my warranty for getting too many replacements, and especially in a short period of time...

you probably need to install MacDrive (http://www.mediafour.com/products/macdrive/) or HFS+ (http://www.paragon-software.com/home/hfs-windows/) on your winsloth installation.

This would be great news if they do manage to release a wireless one. Maybe they can go back to the 3 AA batteries or even 4 to maximize the battery life.

hi
Does anyone in the forum have experience with the 2 monitors I listed.
Both are under 350.00, much less than apple cinema display.
Samsung LED from newegg
viewsonic LCD from amazon
Will be using with 13" i7 macbook pro.
Will be using mostly photoshop, nothing crazy.
please if you have one of these monitors let me know.
thanks in advance !!!!!
LED is where the future is, I would highly recommend the samsung. I own a samsung led tv and I will say the picture and color contrast is absolutely stunning.
Both are 1080P (1920x1080), so the 27" ACD has ~70% greater resolution (2560x1440).
I don't think he was asking about the ACD and also try doubling the price on it. He could buy two samsung led and still have extra cash left over. Moving up from 1280x800 to 1920x1080 is already a leap.

Thanks eastercat and Applejuiced,
3GS not invited to the party, that's the missing link! I keep reading references to WiFi but it's not there on my 3GS.
I'll admit to never giving Bluetooth tethering a try, will have to do that sometime.
I was waiting for the white iPhone4, but now it seems prudent to hang on a while longer for the iPhone5.

The guitar rig mobile is designed to DI your guitar straight into your computer, the output from a mic, especially a dynamic mic like the Shure will be considerably quieter and if you simply crack up the input on the GRmobile you'll probably find that everything gets very noisy.
Have you tried this set-up yet? if so what issues if any are you having?
You may need to get a separate mic pre amp, but then that will give you a line level, which is probably going to be too hot for your input.

Okay, still trying to get this to work. I tried using installous. I put my purchased copy of imovie on my ipad (via ssh) and then tried to install it using installous. I got back an error message of "not a valid IPA file".
I am not sure what this means. I purchased my copy of imovie through iTunes.
Anyone else ran into this?

Regarding the subject line, can this be done? The windows 98 computer is hard wired to the router and the printer, and the iBook is wireless. The router does not have any sort of print server. Can you print from the iBook to the printer straight up? Or would something like an aiport express need to be involved?
the answer is yes you can. i just searched the forums for a little bit, most of the instruction out there is for windows xp/2000. That means you can either google for instruction. The easiest way is to get a printer server. It doesn't have to be an airport express it can be a dlink or linksys etc as long as they support appletalk which I believe they both do. With a printer server, setup time will shorter (in theory) and once you retire you windows 98 computer your'll still be able to print from your iBook. online support for windows 98 i believe will stop around June maybe longer. There isn't security fixes or patches coming out for that operating system anyways. You put your computer and data at risk just having windows 98 on there because of the worm/virus threat.

A while back, about a year or two ago, I was not able to stream ISO thru Air Video to my iPhone. Can Air Video stream ISO today?
No idea, never tried it.

WD Green drives don't raid correctly due to the power saving features. Go for either scorpio blue or the black label drives.
I'm running a MyBook WD raid with two 1tb green drives and it works perfectly for me.

Depends on the capacity. I would say $100 most for an 8GB. $150 for 16GB. If you wanna sel it quick, it'll be a bit lower than that.

I just got my iPhone replaced by apple. It took over a week and a half as i had to send it away. Got it today and noticed the vibration is really really loud like 4x times louder than my original. Should i ask for another repair?
Or just deal with it. Am i even entitled to another replacement due to a loud vibrate?

It's happened to me as well, for a couple times. Seems like either when the iPad goes to sleep, or the iPhone goes to sleep, the link needs to be re-established by turning off/on the personal hotspot feature.

So if I'm understanding this correctly you have a View with touch events, a separate View on top with a different touch event, and a button in that View. Could you not just add the button to the parent View? If you are adding the button in IB just drag the button on the main View and use the ruler attributes tab to position it over your subview.
It should work. How are you adding the subview and button? in IB?

Hi flinko,
please try to lower the TVs resolution when it ISN'T plugged in the Mini (start the TV without being hooked-up to the Mini, find the 'Settings' for the TV res. & see if you can set it lower so your Mini can communicate with it & then you can adjust the res. from the Mini later on).

If you don't need the best graphics, then buying a new GPU should be enough. ATI 5770 is only 250$ so if it can make your system last a year or two longer, it should be worth it.
Yeah, I was starting to consider this more. I'm so amazed at how well the Mac Pro 1.1 holds up over time. I only use OS X for my professional side (audio production), and it tears it up just fine with 9GB ram.
Is it really that big of a performance boost between the x1900xt and the 5770?

Hello all,
I intended to erase my TM Backup Partition in Disk Utility and ended up erasing another external drive partition that I had intended to keep. I did not secure erase, just the regular erase, so I should probably be able to recover the data.
My question is what good disk recovery software is available that can bring that stuff back to life for me. Cheap or free would be awesome--I'm not looking for much more features than restoring that data (I'm not even sure what the programs offer).
For now, I'm not touching the disk--it's ejected and I'll leave it that way until I know what I'm going to do with it. Would it affect my "erased" partition if I were to go ahead and Erase/Reformat my TM partition and backup there as well, or would I be best suited to leave it alone until I attempt to recover my data? Is there any other advice?
Thanks in advance!
