Did anyone buy this?
I played the demo and for some reason couldn't get into it. I'm a big fan of the series (first 3 games anyway), but the constant wise-cracking humor in this one really put me off. Just felt like they were trying too hard, "hey let's make him say funny stuff ALL THE TIME, it's what the fans like". Plenty of goofy one-liners...but maybe TOO many?
Did anyone else get that feeling? Does it ease up when the actual game progresses? And besides all that, is it a good adventure game? Story, puzzles, length?
Would love to hear some opinions!

Kingston SSDNow V+100 SVP100S2B/96GR 2.5" 96GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?SID=u1181863t2861741f9fp0dd0c0s701&AID=10440897&PID=1225267&Item=N82E16820139412&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-cables-_-na-_-na)
Finally ready to jump in on an SSD, and this particular model is $120 at newegg AR. I did some research, and it got high marks for low power consumption, but scored behind in other areas. It doesn't have any reviews on newegg, but they seem positive. Maintaining battery life is important to me, so that part seems good.
Does anyone have this particular drive, and if so, how has it worked out for you? Would you recommend it? Seems like a good deal getting 96GB for $120. FYI this will be my boot drive as part of an OptiBay setup.
Thanks!

Here are a couple of reviews:

I like the case, but the price tag is a bit much for my taste personally.

Last night my family went to see the new movie MAN OF THE HOUSE and in one part of it, the cheerleaders were upstairs using an iBook. Well, on the outside case of the iBook was like some orange plastic "protector" looking thing. My mom really likes it and she has a g4 iBook, the same 14" that these cheerleaders had. If anyone has seen that movie and remembers/knows what i'm talking about please let me know so i can tell her. Thanks...
There used to be a company selling them called Mac Skinz
but they are having some problems with production, you may still find some on ebay.
Their website is http://www.macskinz.com/ and they currently make some for the iPod line.
Hope this helps.

The Remote Messaging part of the Apple's Objective C Programming Language guide has gone. Has Apple (perhaps by stealth) deprecated Objective-C distributed objects? It doesn't look like it's been implemented in iOS, which is a shame. I thought it would be a great communication system between Mac and iOS. Does anyone know of or have any experience with using distribute objects in classic RPC-style client/server projects? I'm just wondering if I should ignore it even for architectural prototypes and just use a "standard" communication system.

Hey guys I was wondering what I should do with my money from my Birthday. I narrowed it down to two things I really want. I could get the iPod Photo or I could get this lcd (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=1119192&sku=N52-1710) and an iPod mini. What would you suggest? :D
To answer your question, I think it all comes down to preference. If you take a lot of digital photos and need a lot of external storage then you might want the iPod Photo, but if you are really into music (especially on the go) then you might want the iPod mini because of its small size. They are both sexy. :D

Hello Macheads,
So I bought a new mac mini about a year ago, I kinda regret purchasing it because i never use it I primalry use my laptop. So I was thinking about turing the mac mini into a small server. So my question is.... Is the mac mini suitable as a small server to say host a web site, or be a small file server, and is it suitable to be turned on 24/7 365 a year?

I have a Quicksilver G4/867 with 640MB RAM. I run os 10.4. Is maxing out the RAM at 1.5MB worth it on this machine? How about upgrading to 10.5? This machine is mostly for the kids doing homework and internet, although I would like to start syncing ipad and iphone on it (the reason for 10.5). Thanks.

Why did this make it on macbytes?
Some piece of software getting a revision to v0.11? Am I missing the newsworthyness of this? does everyone use it or something?

Did that around the time SETI was introduced... Not much point to it though unlike current medical projects...

Those type of settings are typically part of a printer driver. I am assuming your home printer and school printer are different, that could be your problem.
As a start, what printer is at home, and what is at school (ie if you have an HP printer at home, missing the Epson page setup is unsurprising).
I figured it out,
I guess my epson printer drivers suppost acrobat 9 and not 10.
The settings are back to normal when I installed 9.
Thank you guys anyway! :D

It's possible that it's a firewall problem on either your end or, more likely, the hospital's wifi. I can't offer any concrete reason why but a lot of public wifi's block things for one reason or another. It could easily be the case with whatever service provider you're trying to get emails from.

I guess I'll have to let you off on that one, then. And the pref pane SMP client is chugging along fine, this morning InCrease said that it had about 39 hours left.

Looks like my battery is really good after a restore to 4.3.3 and set it up as new. My battery is on 48% and the stats is 4 hours and 47 min usage and 1 day and 1 hour of standby. And I have been using 3G and wifi and wifi has been on all the time. And 3G has been turned off when I don't need it.

3) Apply ColorSync Profile to Images (I set it to use my calibrated Colorsync profile, but a generic RGB one would work)
This is a little OT but fi you're applying a monitor-specific profile to an image, you're not doing it correctly. Monitor specific ICC profiles should only be used in system prefs>displays for your screen, and never for an image.
