You can bet that companies like OWC will find a way to use this space for an SSD. Even easier would be to hook up an external SSD via Thunderbolt when it becomes available.
That's a good point about 3rd parties making things available. True about the external, but the option for internal would be nice.

I use a pre-HDMI Mini and have no problems with a Sony Bravia LCD projector or a Sony Bravia 40" LCD via VGA.

thanks both of you, that worked kinda.
the only problem is in the dock, when you ctrl click the new icon to get the menu you can move out through folders on the hard drive but not on cds. the cd shows up, but just as an alias. any work around?

Just wondering.... a lot of people looked at my question, but noone seems to have an answer.
BTW, my internal keyboard is now completely dead. I am writing this on a USB keyboard.
If you know anything about key removal without voiding the warranty, please speak up.
Thanks
I had an unfortunate, but very tiny Pisco spill on my left shift key.
Ever since, using the Air keyboard is very difficult. For now I am managing only with a cheap external keyboard.
Since Pisco is 40 percent alcohol based, it has mostly evaporated ever since, but the problem persists.
Is there a way to clean under the keys without voiding the warranty?
I will go to an Apple Store once back from my travels and hope for the best, but for now would like to try to fix the problem myself.
It was really a few drops of liquid, but it did its ugly job!!

Have you tried any of these steps?
Mac doesn't boot (http://guides.macrumors.com/Mac_doesn't_boot)
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1417)
Troubleshooting: My computer won't turn on (http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1367)

Yeah, the convenient options are basically what bizzle wrote. Of the two a 2.5" to 3.5" IDE adapter is by far the cheapest.
On the other hand, if you find a reasonable cheap enclosure for 2.5" IDE you can get one of those and continue to use the disk as an external drive.

Run hardware test.
What monitor/s and how are they connected?
Cheers
Hadn't thought of running a hardware test. Thanks.
I am using an 22" Viewsonic LED connected via MiniDisplay Port/MiniDisplay-DVI adapter.

You could leave afp on ;)
Was the apple TV the only device using afp? Perhaps when you
hacked the atv you broke its afp and it does not disconnect
cleanly. Try turning off the atv, then turning off afp.
You could try turning off file sharing completely, then
just enabling smb.
I'm not sure why you want to do this, afp typically works
better than smb on apple devices.

Hey Arn! How about some T-shirts and bumper-stickers with some of the forums' best one-liners and running gags??? $5.00 each for tees, $1.00 each for stickers. It'd be good for moralle even for those who DON'T frequent the forums.

This is probably a very basic question...
I have a Dell desktop pc that is directly connected to a Time Capsule router. Can a 2nd computer in my network (a Mac laptop that is connecting wirelessly) - can that user in any way access my internet browsing history? Does the Time Capsule store that info? (FYI - The 2nd computer is the admin of the Time Capsule.)
Thanks for any info! :)

You can probably get that to work, but you can't us Boot Camp Assistant to get you started. You will have to create a FAT32 partition in Disk Utility and then use that as a target for your Windows install.
Which versions of Windows are supported on your Mac will depend on which Mac it is so you may want to tell us.
The main difference between doing it this way and Boot Camp Assistant, is that BCA sets the default boot to the Windows partition, you will need to hold Alt/Option every time you boot when the Windows installer wants a reboot.

Any heavy usage you will be doing? If it's mostly essay writing the MB or the MBP is good, but the MBAir might be a better fit with light usage.
Since you say the ipad solves portability issues, maybe you should go with the Mac Mini. Since you don't have a monitor, keyboard... iMac?
If you are a procrastinator like I was in college, it's nice to write those 100 page essays sitting on a couch or bed with a laptop though.
Mac mini's seem most useful to people who hook it up to their TVs for movies, gaming, etc.

Tnx for sharing! :)
And tnx for highlighting the Dutch team! You really must have been very close to the Russian car incident.... very cool.
I love the idea of country-teams battling it out on the track. I think we're going to have much more fun with this kind of racing opposed to the boring F1 we now know....
I just wish they "upped" the HP a bit: 520 BHP is not alot compared to others.
Too bad I couldn't watch it today (uuhhmm yesterday technically :D ), but I will follow it through the winter!

What templates are you referring to? If you mean in the iLife or iWork apps, yes, those are all royalty free for commercial or personal use. However, things like the desktop pictures, etc, are not. Be a little more specific and maybe we can tell you for sure.
